Málaga Fair 2026: dates and guide

Málaga Fair 2026: 15–22 August. Day fair in the centre, night fair at Cortijo de Torres, fireworks, free concerts and local tips.

Every August, Málaga throws itself into one of the biggest and happiest fairs in Spain. For nine days the city celebrates its Feria, marking Málaga's incorporation into the Crown of Castile in 1487, with flamenco, horses, sweet wine and plenty of street life. If your trip lines up with it, get ready for the city at its most festive.

When is the 2026 Málaga Fair?

The 2026 Málaga Fair runs from 15 to 22 August. It kicks off on the night of the 14th: around midnight the fireworks are launched from the port area, and before that the historic cavalcade re-enacts the 1487 taking of the city. From then on, eight days of non-stop celebration.

Day fair and night fair

The Feria has two souls. The day fair fills the old town —Calle Larios, Plaza de la Constitución, Plaza de la Merced— with crowds, flamenco dresses, sevillanas and sweet wine: spontaneous and best enjoyed on foot. The night fair moves to the Real del Cortijo de Torres fairground, with casetas, funfair rides and concerts into the small hours.

On top of that, the Auditorio Municipal hosts free concerts all week. The line-up is published each year on the city council's official site (malaga.eu): it's worth checking when you plan, as there are well-known names and it fills up.

Tips to enjoy it

  • Stay hydrated: August in Málaga is hot. Water, a hat and shade between casetas.
  • Get to Cortijo de Torres by public transport: there are special night buses; driving and parking is a headache.
  • Try the sweet wine: cartojal (a sweet pale wine) is the official taste of the day fair.
  • Stay in the centre: the day fair will be on your doorstep and you can walk home at any hour.

Where to stay for the Fair

During the Feria, staying in the centre changes everything: you step out of the door and you're already in the thick of it, with no car or last bus to worry about. Our apartments in the centre and El Molinillo leave you a short walk from Calle Larios. They do go fast for these dates, though: the sooner you book, the better.
