San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026: 1–4 October at FYCMA. What it is, tickets, how to get there and where to stay near the centre.
Málaga has become the European capital of pop-culture fandom: San Diego Comic-Con —the world's most famous pop-culture convention— has its first and only official expansion outside the United States right here. Film, TV series, comics, video games, cosplay and big-name guests take over the city each autumn. If you're a fan, this is your pilgrimage; and if you're just visiting, it's a brilliant change of plan.
When and where is Comic-Con Málaga 2026
San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026 takes place from 1 to 4 October at FYCMA, the Málaga Trade Fairs and Congress Centre. The 2026 edition grows on the previous one: more space, new content areas and a redesigned layout to improve the experience, with more room for guests, exhibitors and activities.
What San Diego Comic-Con Málaga is
This is no ordinary convention: it is the only officially licensed expansion of the legendary San Diego Comic-Con. It brings together fans, creators, studios and publishers from film, television, comics, video games and animation, with panels, signings, exhibitors, premieres and, of course, one of the best cosplay scenes you'll ever see.
Tickets
Tickets are sold by single day or as a four-day pass, on official platforms such as Ticketmaster and on the event's website (sandiegocomicconmalaga.com). For an event this big, buy early: the busy days and the passes sell out.
How to get to FYCMA
FYCMA is in the west of the city, about 4 km from the old town: a short hop by taxi or bus (around 10–15 minutes). On Comic-Con days it gets very busy, so public transport —and leaving the car parked in the city— is usually the easiest option.
Where to stay
The ideal move is to use Málaga as your base: you head to FYCMA by day and, on the way back, you have the old town, the tapas and the beach to round off the day.
